FOUNDATIONS IN RESTORATIVE JUSTICE • Wednesday, August 19 - Friday, August 21 The Restorative Center's foundational training provides an experience-based understanding of TRC’s community based model of Restorative Justice. This training teaches the basic components of Circle Keeping, as well as give everyone an experience of being in circle. Elizabeth Clemants will cover both community building and building safety in a circle, basic processes and questions. This training meets weekly and is much like a Circle Keepers Apprenticeship. Led by Glen Parker, this is an opportunity for those trained in basic circle keeping to experience being the keeper, as well as the important job of holding space for others. Each week a different set of two participants will design the two hour experience, and lead the circle. This training is for those that have had both a foundational course in Circle Keeping and some experience in facilitating circles. This next level of training will give depth to the practice by drawing on the diversity of experience in Circle Keeping from the individuals in the group. This training will cover the material in the three training above in five days. Elizabeth Clemants spend the first day covering Community Building in Circle, the second day they focus on Building Safety drawing from personal experience as well as a trauma informed practice, the third and fourth day will be spent working on How We Heal From Harm.
